Well, the political corruption of the Republican leadership is finally coming home to roost here in Connecticut, the land of the "moderate" Republican. Nancy Johnson, who is about as moderate as Tom DeLay after a painkiller, recently took a trip to Ecuador in order to learn about environmental projects and illegal immigration.

Now, that all sounds pretty innnocuous. But, as it is with any story, it just gets better. While learning about Ecuadorian immigration problems, she neglected to respond to invitations from immigrant groups in HER OWN DISTRICT! Now, after the trip and its private funding source (The Nature Conservancy) became public, she's willing to set up a meeting with that group.
