Utah GOP Rebelling Against Bush

Tue Mar 01, 2005 at 10:45:30 PM PDT

Nothing makes my day like cracks in the conservative facade. So, I thought some of you might be amused by what's going down in the pretty, great state of Utah. The state legislature, which is made up of mostly super-duper GOP faithful and a handful of Democrats including one awesome lesbian and a a newly-appointed gay man, is instigating a folk rebellion against Bush's No Child Left Behind Act.

OMG FReepers and DU actually agree

Tue Nov 30, 2004 at 10:55:09 PM PDT

The bejeebus people are right. The end times are nigh on high. The freeper creatures (the uber-wingnut-jobs at www.freerepublic.com) and our own crazy aunt in the attic, the Democratic Underground, are actually agreeing on something.

Unbelievable.

Some of the Freepers are experiencing buyer's remorse already, over an issue that, irony of ironies, the fringiest of lefties agree with, too.

Cue up Obama's convention speech. This, found on Free Republic. The spelling's so bad, it must be for real. (Though it implies that one of them actually read George Orwell.) If you're up for it, snap on a keyboard condom and head for the source and partake of some delicious schadenfraude.

Bush Shows Off Tighty Whiteys!

Or are they boxers? From Yahoo!, Bush horsing around with world leaders, including Japanese PM Junichiro Koizumi. Above Cheney, Russian President Vladimir Putin is trying not to die from laughter.

President George W. Bush (news - web sites), left, talks with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, as Prime Minister of Australia John Howard, right, talks with China's President Hu Jintao, and Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong , top left, and Russian President Vladimir Putin (news - web sites) look on after they attended the Reading of the Final Declaration at the APEC (news - web sites) Summit at La Moneda Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004 in Santiago, Chile. Our President is a dork. Cut out of the photo is  New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark. The formal portrait taken before this one. Tonight is a treasure trove of great photos of our dear leader! Thank heavens he doesn't wear a thong, or, God forbid, go commando. Other pix below the fold.

Sunset for the Christian Right Wing

Thu Nov 11, 2004 at 12:05:05 AM PDT

I've been thinking a lot about some of the theocracy/dominionist diaries that popped up on that sad, sad day last week. Very scary stuff. But unlikely, because that would require a lot of religious groups to get along. The Protestants and Catholics have been at it for how many centuries? Can you really imagine extremist Mormons, Pentecostals, Baptists and Anglicans all agreeing to share the US equally?

I think that these are the end times for the Christian Right extremists as the political force behind the GOP.

James Dobson is 68
Jerry Falwell is 71
Pat Robertson is 74
Phylis Schafley is 80
Gary Bauer is 58
Chuck Colson is somewhere in his 70s--at least
